Yamaha's new Montage synth offers unprecedented ways for keyboard players to control and interact with sound. For more than 40 years, Yamaha has developed industry-leading synthesizers, from the revolutionary DX7 in the 1980s to the renowned Motif series, one of the best-selling synthesizers of all time. The Montage, available in 61, 76 and 88 keys configurations, features the Motion Control Synthesizer Engine, a powerful and intuitive way to interact with and control sound.

The Motion Control Synthesizer Engine controls two iconic Sound Engines:

Advanced Wave Memory 2 (AWM2) and FM-X. Compatible with previous Motif libraries, the AWM2 engine is exponentially more powerful than the previous Motif XF flagship with nearly ten times more wave memory, integrated flash, double the effects, and twice the polyphony! (256 notes). Joining the powerful AWM2 engine is FM-X. Montage synth also features a brand new user interface with color touch screen, endless rotary encoders and the Super Knob: a macro control allowing users to control multiple parameters simultaneously. Ευχάριστα νέα από την Yamaha... πάντως το panel φαίνεται να έχει επηρεαστεί από το Korg Oasys... άντε και analog την επόμενη φορά!

Επιτέλους βγάζουν κάτι "ανταγωνιστικό" για το Κρονος; Εκείνο έχει 9 μηχανές σύνθεσης, αυτό λέει θα έχει 2. Awm2 και FM-X. Σαν να λέμε επανέκδοση του SY99 στο σήμερα με πολύ μεγαλύτερες δυνατότητες και ενσωματωμένη vector "σύνθεση" μου ακούγεται. Πράγμα που ΔΕΝ με χαλάει καθόλου. ;D Αν και εμφανισιακά είναι κάπως μάπα, με κέρδισε ήδη. Σε 5 χρόνια αν δεν είμαι άστεγος και καταφέρω να μαζέψω χρήματα, θα το αποκτήσω Οπωσ και δήποτε. Period. 8)

Coool....την περίμενα αυτήν την επόμενη έκδοση synth μετά το motif xf, αφού θεωρούσα πως πρόκειται να κατασκευσtεί ακόμα καλύτερο του kronos. Το κακό στην υπόθεση είναι πως περίμενα ένα synth με εγκατεστημένες τουλάχιστον τις προηγούμενες synth engines της yamaha , όπως vl, an κλπ, ή κάποια καινούρια όπως για organ,αλλά ίσως θεώρησαν πως τελικά δεν χρειάζονται, αφού αυτή η καινούρια awm πρέπει να γ???ει και . Επισης με χαλάει λίγο εμφανισιακά, τα προηγούμενα synth ήταν όμορφα, κάτι που δεν είναι και αδιάφορο στο μουσικό, μου παραπέμπει αρκετά στο μουντό στυλ του kronos(τουλάχιστον απο αυτή τη φωτο). Αλλά τι να λέμε, το synth πρεπει να είναι top, ανυπομονώ να το δοκιμάσω. Ο παραλλησλισμός με το sy δεν μου φαίνεται τόσο εύστοχος, αφού δεν φαίνεται να είναι απλά waveform+FM αλλά κάτι πολύ πιο φιλοσοφημένο...

Σίγουρα είναι πιό φιλοσοφημένο. FM-X έχει το νέο μηχάνημα το οποίο από μόνο του σηματοδοτεί μία πολύ δυνατότερη FM τεχνολογία από αυτή του SY. Όμως ο παραλληλισμός έγινε επειδή οι μηχανές του SY είναι AWM2 + FM ενώ του νέου είναι AWM2 + FM-X, οπότε το γενικό concept του νέου το έχουμε δεί στο SY ήδη, απλώς το νέο όργανο έχει πολύ βελτιωμένες εκδόσεις γνωστών παλιών μηχανών σύνθεσης. Έτσι μου φαίνεται.

Αυτό που εννοώ, είναι πως πχ αντι για το + που αναφέρεις πιο πανω ίσως υπάρχει κάτι άλλο ,κάποια συνεπαγωγή ή το "motion control engine", κατι που θα κανει τις 2 engines να αλληλεπιδρουν, οχι να λειτουργούν προσθετικά, ετσι το σκεφτομαι ,βεβαια ειναι κατι εντελως καινουριο και μου κινεί ακομα περισσοτερο την περιέργεια να το γνωρίσω, γιατι αλλιώς οτι και να λέμε εικασια θα ειναι

το panel φαίνεται να έχει επηρεαστεί από το Korg Oasys

To panel ειναι κατα 90% ιδιο με τα Motif XS/XF.

Τα νεα στο panel ειναι κυριως η touch screen και το Super Knob. Κατα τα αλλα, η σειρα των 8 ποτενσιομετρων και των 8 faders στα αριστερα, συν το γεγονος οτι εχει AWM2 engine, μας προϊδεαζει οτι προκειται για ενα 8-element synth, οπως και τα MOX/MOXF/Motif XS/XF. Τωρα, αν προσθεσουμε και την FM-X στα προηγουμενα, το ολο εγχειρημα θυμιζει SY77/99. Κανενα προβλημα βεβαια, αφου τα συγκεκριμενα synths θεωρουνται_και ειναι_"τερατα" ακομα και με τα σημερινα δεδομενα.

Αν προκειται λοιπον για μια 2016 version του SY77/99, αυτο απο μονο του αποτελει "ειδησαρα". Η wave ROM που ανακοινωσαν ειναι 10 φορες μεγαλυτερη απ'οτι στα MOXF/Motif XF, κι αυτο με απλα λογια σημαινει 7.23GB με Waveforms. Αριθμος τεραστιος, αν σκεφτει κανεις πως στα 741MB της ROM των MOXF/Motif XF χωρεσαν 3977 Waveforms.

Προσθεστε και την ενσωματωμενη Flash, που ακομα δεν ξερουμε στα ποσα GB θα παιζει, και παιρνετε μια ιδεα...

Η FM-X δεν ξερουμε ακομα τι διαφορετικο εχει απο την FM των DX/SY, ελπιζω τουλαχιστον να ειναι κατι εφαμιλλο με την FM των SY77/99, αν οχι του FS1R. Και εφαμιλλη ενος DX7 να ειναι βεβαια δεν μας χαλαει, απλα πιστευω οτι θα ειναι κατι πιο περιπλοκο. Περιμενουμε να δουμε. Στον τομεα των εφφε, λενε για διπλασιασμο τους σε σχεση με τα εφφε των MOXF/Motif XF. Αυτο χοντρικα σημαινει 32 insertion εφφε ταυτοχρονα σε sequencer mode, συν τα System & Master εφφε. Πανικος...

Πανω απο το fader του Master Volume βλεπω ενα ποτενσιομετρο και ενα κουμπακι. Να υποθεσω οτι το νεο synth της Yamaha ενσωματωνει το audio interface του MOXF? Ιδωμεν. 8) Ας περιμενουμε επισης να δουμε αν εχει sampler καθως και τον αριθμο των arpeggiators. Να θυμισω οτι στο MOXF η Yamaha εχει 4 ανεξαρτητους arpeggiators με 7981 preset arpeggios, κι αυτο αν δεν κανω λαθος ειναι το ρεκορ της σε synth. Φανταζομαι οτι το Montage θα εχει τουλαχιστον κατι παρομοιο, αν οχι κατι καλυτερο.

Κρινοντας απο τα SY77/99, αυτες οι δυο engines θα αλληλεπιδρουν μεταξυ τους. Στα SY77/99 τα samples της AWM engine μπορουσαν να διαμορφωσουν τους Operators της FM engine, λειτουργουσαν δηλαδη και σαν Modulator Operators. Ολα αυτα το 1990. Φανταζομαι η Yamaha μπορει να κανει σημερα τουλαχιστον το ιδιο και με το νεο της synth.

Παντως ειναι περιεργο οτι σε ολο το ιντερνετ δεν υπαρχει τιποτα νεοτερο, η yamaha δεν εχει καποια επισημη ανακοινωση, αλλα εχω την εντυπωση οτι η namm σε μια εβδομαδα διεξαγεται.Θα επρεπε να εχει ανακοινωθει κατι απο τη yamaha , μηπως ειναι απλα ενα teaser και θα περιμενουμε μεχρι του χρονου να μαθουμε νεοτερα; Δεν θελουμε πολλες λεπτομερειες, αλλα εδω δεν ξερουμε αν θα ειναι workstation ή απλα synth, αν και μαλλον για workstation πηγαινει ...

Παντως ειναι περιεργο οτι σε ολο το ιντερνετ δεν υπαρχει τιποτα νεοτερο, η yamaha δεν εχει καποια επισημη ανακοινωση...

H πληροφοριες και η φωτο για το Montage προερχονται απο τη σελιδα 224 του τευχους Φεβρουαριου 2016 του Music Trades mag.

Αυτα πριν 2-3 μερες. Γιατι αυτη τη στιγμη η σελιδα 224 εχει αλλαξει και δειχνει μια νεα Fender κιθαρα, ενω σε ολοκληρο το τευχος η λεξεις Yamaha Montage δεν υπαρχουν πουθενα....

Ελπιζω να το δουμε στη ΝΑΜΜ (21-24 Ιανουαριου).

Super Knob

​

Create dynamic sound changes from radical to sublime with the Super Knob. The Super Knob can control multiple parameters simultaneously resulting in anything you can imagine. For example: change your listening position from right in front of an instrument to in the back seat of a concert hall. Or radically change the character of a Performance from atmospheric and mellow to rhythmic and edgy.

Compatibility

Montage is directly compatible with Motif XF Voices. Yamaha is developing an FM converter to make it compatible with DX7 series Voices as well.

Effects

​

From high definition reverbs to incredibly detailed Virtual Circuit Modeling (VCM) effects, montage is loaded with DSP innovation, power and, most importantly, sound quality. Use effects like Beat Repeat, Vinyl Break or Bit Crusher to get a modern EDM sound. You can even add a compressor with sidechain for a modern “ducking” effect. Or go retro with vintage effects like Analog Delay, VCM Phaser or a variety of Amp Simulators.

Οι φωτογραφιες και τα specs ειναι απο το www.andertons.co.uk, και η τιμη που εχει το Montage 6 ειναι στα £2,169 το οποιο μεταφραζεται σε €2,829.

Ιδια πανω κατω τιμη δηλαδη με το Motif XF6. Αρκετα τσιμπημενη τιμη θα ελεγα, αν αποδειχτει οτι δεν ειναι workstation, αν και σαν synth ειναι "τουμπανο".

Απ'οτι φαινεται λοιπον το Montage δεν ειναι ο αντικαταστατης του Motif. Συμφωνα με τα εως τωρα στοιχεια, το νεο synth δεν ειναι_δυστυχως_workstation. Καμια αναφορα για onboard sequencer και sampler. Μενει να το δουμε αυτο σημερα στην ΝΑΜΜ. Αν ισχυει αυτο παντως, νομιζω οτι θα ειναι ενα μεγαλο λαθος της Yamaha.

Ίσως πήγαν να φτιάξουν κάτι σαν το Roland Jupiter 80 ( το οποίο είναι εξαιρετικό).

Η τιμή τώρα είναι ακριβή, πιστεύω ότι στο 6μηνο θα έχει πέσει αρκετά...
