Συγχωρέστε τα αγγλικά μου, δεν είναι και τα καλύτερα, αλλά κάνω copy - paste απο το Gilmour Gear Forum οτι έγραψα για να μην τα ξαναγράφω.
Today I bought the blue-ray version which I had pre-ordered. Nice Box and the extra material is fine, I would prefer tho to include the Box of the common CD version and not the CD envelopes inside the package.
The Blue-Ray sound quality is unbelievable!! (96k 24-bit), it gives another dimension, especially in 5.1 DTS.
Now about the music itself, I love Pink Floyd, It's my all time favorite group and my feelings are confused with this album, have listened to it over twenty times, the more you listen to it, the more grows on you, in a good way. It delivers "the dimension, weight and depth" you expect from a Floyd album but in my honest opinion it's like half completed album in some aspects.
What I mean, I listen to awesome melodies, ideas and composition that could make songs with a little more effort, songs that we would whisper in our entire lives, the lack of leads also... It's like listening to an awesome intro of a song and suddenly when you wait the main theme, it goes to then next intro..
I could say: "Beautiful Pink Floyd intros and passages that never became songs"
"It's what we do" is my favorite one.
Side 1 is generally awesome!
Side 3 is awesome too, especially the Allons-y 1 through to 2, but really can't specify tracks, it's awesome
Side 4, especially Calling is my second favorite one, It reminds me the music of my favorite composer Vangelis Papathanasiou, by the way, the composer of this track is DG.
What I don't like is Anisia and Skins but I might change opinion later, especially for the second, I think Anisia would be better without the clarinet, like the original one, DG's slide guitars and Sax would be enough for me.
Finally, Louder than words being the only song in the album is to die for.. Love it.. it makes you sad because it's like ending titles of our best group ever.
It's a Pink Floyd album indeed, it has a nostalgic feel, obviously they didn't want to make it bigger, it's a tribute to Rick. Love it!
EDIT: Και ένα cover του σόλο του louder than words που είχα γράψει πριν λίγο καιρό έτσι για το καλό!
