Ειδικά στην τζαζ, το "άλμπουμ" με την έννοια που είναι αποδεκτή στον κόσμο του ροκ ιδιώματος, είναι κάτι το (σχεδόν) εντελώς άγνωστο. Κανείς (σχεδόν, ξαναλέω) δεν έχει φτιάξει "κόνσεπτ άλμπουμ" και κανείς δεν μπήκε στο στούντιο (ειδικώς τις δεκαετίες στις οποίες αναφέρθηκες) με την ιδέα "ας πάμε να τελειώσουμε ένα άλμπουμ". Τζαμάρανε οι άνθρωποι, άλλοι με περισσότερο και άλλοι με λιγότερο οργανωμένο υλικό, και προέκυπταν δίσκοι - μάλιστα δεν ήταν σπάνιο να προκύπτει υλικό για πάνω από έναν δίσκους, από μία σειρά σέσσιονς.

Ποιος μιλησε για concept αλμπουμ? Δηλαδη οτι δεν ειναι concept δεν συγκαταλεγεται στα αλμπουμ? Τα concept αλμπουμ σε οποιοδηποτε μουσικο ειδος υπαρχουν μονο σαν ενα πολυ μικρο ποσοστο.  Ξερεις ποσες χιλιαδες αλμπουμ υπαρχουν στη Jazz τις δεκαετιες των 50s και 60s? Αλμπουμ κανονικα, 40+ λεπτα το καθενα με Χ τραγουδια/κομματια μεσα, και οχι concept. Οι μουσικοι μπαινουν μεσα στο στουντιο για να τζαμαρουν και να γραψουν νεα τραγουδια, αυτο γινεται ανεξαρτητως μουσικου ειδους. Δεν πληρωνουν το στουντιο για να τζαμαρουν απλα, πανε να ηχογραφησουν και να κυκλοφορησουν το υλικο τους. Αν αυτα που ηχογραφησαν ειναι αρκετα για ενα-δυο αλμπουμ ειναι αλλη ιστορια. Ποια κομματια θα μπουν σε ενα 40λεπτο LP και ποια θα κυκλοφορησουν σαν singles ειναι κι αυτο μια αλλη ιστορια.

Concept υπάρχουν, αλλά είναι λίγα. 10-20 το πολύ.

αν θέλετε να τα αναφέρω αν είναι να παει η συζήτηση εκεί.

Όμως όταν λέμε άλμπουμ εννοούμε αυτό που έγραψα πιό πάνω.

Δίσκους που σημάδεψαν ένα γκρουπ ηχητικά, χρονικά, από άποψης στυλ, από άποψης σύνθεσης κλπ.

Πχ δεν έχουν και πολλή σχέση το stormbringer με το in rock ή το come taste the band με το book of Taliesyn...έτσι δεν είναι (όχι τυχαία επιλογή οι purple για να έχουμε κοινό σημείο αναφοράς)

Anyway, ποσταρω και γω "μερικα" αλμπουμ παρακατω και παω να φτιαξω σπαγγετι με κοκκινη σαλτσα. Ειναι σιγουρο οτι πριν τελειωσετε με τη λιστα μου εγω θα εχω χωνεψει ηδη... ;D

Ποιος ειναι ο αλλος?

Και τι τρεχει μ'αυτο το αλμπουμ? Μια χαρα κολλαει σ'αυτη την τεραστια και παρανοϊκη λιστα.

Έχεις βάλει το Trio of Doom  δύο φορές.Τυχαίο? ;D

Κατα λαθος μπηκε δυο φορες, μια φορα στο γραμμα Μ (McLaughlin) και μια στο P (Pastorius). Επρεπε να το εχω βαλει και στο W (Williams). Νταξ, μονο ενα λαθος μεσα σ'ολο αυτο το χαος. Με κουρασε αυτη η λιστα. Ξεκινησα κι εγω να φτιαξω μια μικρη 50+ τιτλων αλλα ως συνηθως αυτο ειναι δυσκολο. "Να βαλω αυτο και να βγαλω το αλλο" ή "γιατι να μην μπει κι αυτο" κλπ, και οριστε το αποτελεσμα. Τελος παντων, αστην εκει να υπαρχει, ολο και καποιος θα τσιμπησει να ψαξει και να ακουσει κατι.

Ξερεις ποσες μπαντες θα ηθελαν να εχουν στη δισκογραφια τους ενα τετοιο αλμπουμ? ;D Ρε τι τραβαμε με τους "κριτικους"...Το ακουγα ξανα το απογευμα μετα απο αρκετα χρονια ενω εφτιαχνα τη λιστα. Αστους να λενε, το αλμπουμ τα σπαει.

Καλά... αυτουνού (sic) όλη η ζωή του ήταν ένα κόνσεπτ άλμπουμ.

Ποιος μιλησε για concept αλμπουμ? Δηλαδη οτι δεν ειναι concept δεν συγκαταλεγεται στα αλμπουμ? Τα concept αλμπουμ σε οποιοδηποτε μουσικο ειδος υπαρχουν μονο σαν ενα πολυ μικρο ποσοστο.  Ξερεις ποσες χιλιαδες αλμπουμ υπαρχουν στη Jazz τις δεκαετιες των 50s και 60s? Αλμπουμ κανονικα, 40+ λεπτα το καθενα με Χ τραγουδια/κομματια μεσα, και οχι concept.

Καταράχτωφ, δεν με αντιλαμβάνεσαι. Άλλο πράγμα το "Λονγκ-Πλαίη" βινύλιο (ως μέσο αναπαραγωγής που χώραγε πολλά λεπτά μουσικής), και άλλο πράγμα το "Άλμπουμ" ως καλλιτεχνική επιδίωξη που συλλαμβάνεται και ολοκληρώνεται έχοντας ένα συγκεκριμένο ορίζοντα. Ευχαριστούμε για τη λίστα πάντως. Προσωπικά πιστεύω ότι η λίστα σου ανήκει σε άλλο νήμα (π.χ. "Προτεινόμενες επιλογές από τη διεθνή δισκογραφία). Εδώ, θα προτιμούσα να δω τα πέντε ή δέκα αγαπημένα σου (καθώς έτσι συστηνόμαστε και μαθαίνει ο ένας για τον άλλο).

Από αυτή την άποψη βέβαια, ο καλύτερος είναι ο ΩντιοΚώστας που έβαλε ένα. Δεύτεροι, ο ΛΚ και εγώ.

Εδώ, θα προτιμούσα να δω τα πέντε ή δέκα αγαπημένα σου (καθώς έτσι συστηνόμαστε και μαθαίνει ο ένας για τον άλλο).

Δηλαδη, με 5-10 αλμπουμ μαθαινεις κατι για "τον αλλο", αλλα με κοντα 800 αλμπουμ οχι? Τι να καταλαβεις ωρε Trolley για τα γουστα του αλλου αν σου αραδιασει 10 αλμπουμ? Τιποτα απολυτως. Μονο για τον Παπαθανασιου σου ποσταρα 24 τιτλους. Αυτο που ζητας ειναι αδυνατον οταν εχεις να κανεις με μια δισκογραφια καποιων χιλιαδων αλμπουμ. Το "5-10 αγαπημενα αλμπουμ" ειναι Οκ για καποιον που εχει 100 CDs σπιτι του, σε ολες τις αλλες περιπτωσεις αυτος ο αριθμος ειναι απιστευτα περιοριστικος ακομα κι αν μιλαμε μονο για ενα μουσικο ειδος.
O ΟP το εγραψε καθαρα:

Ας αναφέρει λοιπόν ο καθένας μας 10, 20, όσα θέλει άλμπουμς τα οποία θεωρεί σπουδαία και σημαντικά από ιστορικής άποψης, και όσα θέλει ακόμα που να είναι για δικούς του προσωπικούς λόγους αγαπημένα.

Υπαρχουν και αλλα εκτος λιστας που ειναι μεσα στην καρδια μου, αλλα ειπαμε, ΔΕΝ εχω 100 αλμπουμ σπιτι, εχω κατι χιλιαδες. Και για να εχω αγορασει κατι χιλιαδες αλμπουμ σημαινει οτι μου αρεσαν και τα πηρα. Σημαινει επισης οτι μεσα σε μερικες χιλιαδες αλμπουμ, μια λιστα με κοντα 800 αλμπουμ ειναι ενα μικρο δειγμα, ενω μια λιστα με 30-50-100 ειναι τιποτα. Δεν ειναι αντικειμενικα δυνατον να φτιαξεις μια τοσο μικρη λιστα μεσα απο τοσα αλμπουμ. Κι αν ποτε καθησω και το κανω, να βγαλω δηλαδη τα 30-50 απολυτως πιο αγαπημενα αλμπουμ, θα μου παρει κανα μηνα να διαλεξω. Οχι, δεν εχω τοσο χρονο για να σπαταλησω σε τοσο ανουσια πραγματα.
Γυρνα πισω τωρα και ριξε ενα-δυο-τρια ματια

στη λιστα μου, και μη βιαζεσαι. Δεν σε κυνηγαει κανεις, ουτε θα γραψεις διαγωνισμα την Παρασκευη για το τι θυμασαι απο τη λιστα μου. ;D
