Hallo. Few days ago I bought an NT1a microphone. I cannot work with it properly, because it has very low signal, although phantom power is on (I own an audient ID4 audio interface). The first time I put it out of the box, it was working without problems. Next day it was not working.I did read on web that high humidity may cause some problems. Humidity on the room is 75%. Is this low signal status might be some kind of "safe mode" due to high levels of humidity?
Hi GiorgosThanks for getting in touch and very sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing.Can you please confirm your current setup and confirm that when you use the microphone on another input source with a different cable, does the problem persist?Also, if possible, are you able to provide an audio example of the fault you are experiencing?All of this information will help me determine the fault and how to resolve the issue.
My current setup is rode->id4->cakewalk. I did try two other condenser microphones with the same cable and they were working just fine. I also tryied a second cable, just to be sure. The signal was too low and I had to raise the levels of id4's input to full. Still the levels were very low, and there was barely a signal recorded. At the time, and for the first days, the nt1a was resting plugged and ready on the stand, with the cloth bag over it, for protection. It never worked.
After internet search, I read about moisture on the capsule, so I placed it in the small plastic bag with the crystals, for about 10 minutes. Then it started to function well for some seconds, until the levels were starting to fade again. I left it one hour with the crystals, and for 5 minutes I was recording just fine. So I started to park it inside the naylon bag with the crystals. So far, I haven't met any dysfuctions. And I did not have the chance to record at the time it was faulty, as I had no reason to.

Εν τέλει, το μικρόφωνο δουλεύει κανονικότατα. Το χρησιμοποιώ πολύ συχνά και δεν έχει παρουσιάσει το παραμικρό. Μάλλον είχε κολλήσει λίγη υγρασια στη κάψουλα και μόλις απομακρύνθηκε, το μικρόφωνο ήρθε στα συγκαλά του.
Πριν 10 μέρες το αγόρασα. Να το στείλω για επισκευή, να το επιστρέψω και να ζητήσω καινούριο, ή να κάτσω στα αυγά μου και εάν τυχον μου ξαναδημιουργήσει θέμα να το στείλω στο σέρβις??
