Ωραίο JJ! ;) :o

Άσχετο με το θέμα αλλά ναι, είναι απολύτως αναλογικό, όπως και όλη η σειρά Sansamp και Character. Να συμπληρώσω στα περί αναλογικού/ψηφιακού ότι μερικές φορές (καλή ώρα, Tech21 Sansamp PSA) μπορεί να υπάρχουν ψηφιακά κυκλώματα ελέγχου σε ένα πετάλι ή rack. Άλλο παράδειγμα το Nova Drive της TC. Αυτό δεν κάνει το μηχάνημα ψηφιακό, δεδομένου ότι το signal path δεν περνάει από ψηφιοαναλογική μετατροπή. Το ψηφιακό κομμάτι αφορά μνήμες, switching, έλεγχο MIDI, κλπ.

Οι περισσότεροι που έχουν φτιάξει "Dumble in a box" έχουν βασιστεί στον ήχο που ακούνε στις ηχογραφήσεις. ;) Μ'αυτή την έννοια, μερικές φορές τα αποτελέσματα είναι εντυπωσιακά. Ωχ!! Μ'αυτό που έγραψες με έβγαλες ψεύτη! Αυτά είναι όντως modeling υλοποιήσεις, σε αντίθεση μ'αυτά που έγραψα πιο πάνω. :-\ Από την άλλη όμως έχουν τις ευλογίες της μαμάς 7ender οπότε δεκτά! ;)

Κι εμένα πιο Φεντερίσιο μου ακούγεται... αυτό το Vintage Marshall που λέει στο video θα μπορούσε να είναι και κάποια εκδοχή του Bassman. ;)

Μερικές παρατηρήσεις: Πάρε ένα οικονομικό dynamic ή ribbon μικρόφωνο, ώστε να πειραματιστείς και λίγο με το placement κλπ. Όμως μην απορρίπτεις τη λύση του direct και εννοείται ότι μπορείς να χρησιμοποιείς και τις δύο προσεγγίσεις εναλλακτικά ή ταυτόχρονα. Για φωνή, στο budget που ψάχνεις, υπάρχουν αρκετά καλά πυκνωτικά μικρόφωνα έως τα 200 ευρώ. Εννοείται ότι μπορείς να χρησιμοποιείς ένα τέτοιο μικρόφωνο και για ακουστικά όργανα όπως και για τον ενισχυτή σου. ;) Πεταμένα λεφτά σ'αυτό το επίπεδο. Φρόντισε η κάρτα που θα πάρεις να έχει έναν ή δύο αξιοπρεπείς προενισχυτές και σίγουρα phantom power (για το πυκνωτικό). Και όπως είπαν τα παιδιά πιο πάνω, προϋπολόγισε κάτι παραπάνω για μόνιτορ. Σκέψου και την προοπτική, πέρα από κάποια οικονομικά αλλά αξιοπρεπή μόνιτορ, να πάρεις και ένα καλό σετάκι ακουστικά.

Καθόλου off topic, εξυπακούεται ότι οι απόψεις/εκτιμήσεις είναι ευπρόσδεκτες, προκειμένου να συμπληρωθεί το θέμα! Επίσης να σημειώσω ότι δεν έχω συμπεριλάβει καθόλου modeling επιλογές, όπως είναι φανερό, μόνο αναλογικά κυκλώματα.

Το ηχόχρωμα γνωστών ενισχυτών (ή σχολών ενισχυτών) είναι αυτό που προσδιορίζει την επιλογή τους για τους περισσότερους. Μιλάμε για ηχοχρώματα British, Tweed, Plexi, California, Dumble, Recto, κλπ που είναι η βάση για τον ήχο των περισσοτέρων από εμάς. Εκτός από ενισχυτές όμως, υπάρχει και μια ολόκληρη συλλογή από πετάλια, που υπόσχονται να δώσουν τέτοια ηχοχρώματα, με την προοπτική ότι θα χρησιμοποιηθούν με έναν σχετικά "ουδέτερο" λαμπάτο ενισχυτή. Κάποια απ'αυτά μπορούν να δουλέψουν απευθείας σε κονσόλα ή direct για ηχογράφηση (σαν προενισχυτές δηλαδή), ή με χρήση ενός power amp. Αυτή είναι η λίστα όσων γνωρίζω, παρακαλώ όποιον θέλει να συμπληρώσει να το κάνει! Κάποια πετάλια είναι σε μορφή κιτ ή DIY (μόνο σχέδια και το φτιάχνεις μόνος σου) ενώ άλλα δε βγαίνουν πλέον, αλλά πιθανώς μπορεί να τα βρει κάποιος στο ebay ή σε αγγελίες. Με τιμές καταναλωτή (και όχι χονδρικής που αγοράζει ας πούμε η Rockinger), θα σου βγει στην ίδια τιμή με την τελευταία, αλλά ΧΩΡΙΣ το κόστος συναρμολόγησης και πιθανού fretwork, κλπ. ΔΕΝ ΕΧΕΙ ΣΗΜΑΣΙΑ ΑΝ ΤΑ ΤΕΛΕΥΤΑΙΑ ΤΑ ΚΑΝΕΙΣ ΜΟΝΟΣ ΣΟΥ. Ελπίζω αυτό να γίνεται κατανοητό. ;) Όσο για Warmoth, ακόμα και αν ψωνίσεις από το showroom δε νομίζω να πέφτεις εύκολα κάτω από το χιλιάρικο, με μεταφορικά και τελωνεία μέσα.

Παίδες συγγνώμη αλλά έχω ξαναματαδιαφωνίσει στο παρελθόν στα περί κοστολόγησης των partcaster που κάνετε. Μια partcaster, αναλόγως υλικών, βαψίματος, κλπ κλπ, αλλά και υπολογίζοντας την επαγγελματική δουλειά κάποιου ΕΠΑΓΓΕΛΜΑΤΙΑ (δηλ. κάποιου που δίνει ΕΓΓΥΗΣΗ για τη δουλειά του), μπορεί εύκολα να ανέβει πάνω από τα 1000, 1200 ή παραπάνω ευρώ. Δεν είναι αυτό το θέμα. Αν ο "κατασκευαστής" είναι τίμιος ως προς τα όσα διαφημίζει, τότε δεν υπάρχει πρόβλημα kateme. Για παράδειγμα ο Ron Kirn δεν κρύβει από πουθενά ότι παίρνει έτοιμα μπράτσα από την USACG και απλά τα "περιποιείται". Μπορεί σε κάποιες περιπτώσεις να αγοράζει και σώματα. Ο αγοραστής είναι αυτός που θα κρίνει αν θα παραγγείλει απ'αυτόν ή όχι, γνωρίζοντας όλα τα στοιχεία. Όσο για τις προκαταβολές, συμφωνώ με Marathon, κανείς δεν ξεκινάει να φτιάξει custom όργανο ("partcaster" ή μη) χωρίς να έχει μια εγγύηση. Μέσω paypal εγγύηση αποκτά και ο αγοραστής.

Ο Αγγελόπουλος έχει φύγει από καιρό από τον Thomann. Ο νέος υπάλληλος λέγεται Πέτρος Ναλμπάντης. Τη λύση αυτή μου την είχε δείξει γνωστός μάστορας (που δεν γράφει, δυστυχώς, στο noiz... :-\) εδώ και αρκετά χρόνια και λειτουργεί άψογα. Όσες Strat πέρασαν από τα χέρια μου, ειδικά με locking κλειδιά, είχαν απόδοση... Floyd Rose :P χωρίς ξεκουρδίσματα και το tremolo λειγουργούσε και "μουσικά" σωστά, όπως εξηγεί ο Verheyen.

Επειδή από το 2008 έχουν αλλάξει πολύ τα πράγματα, οι επιλογές είναι αρκετές και με κορυφαία ποιότητα: Outboard: 1) Digidesign 11Rack. Είναι και computer interface ("κάρτα" δηλαδή) και παρέχει απόλυτο interconnection με τα Protools. 2) Digitech GSP1101. Και αυτό λειτουργεί σαν interface μέσω ASIO και με το C48 software παρέχει μεγάλη ποικιλία επιλογών ενισχυτών, εφφέ, κλπ. 3) Πολύ φτηνότερα πολυεφφέ όπως τα καινούργια Zoom λειτουργούν και αυτά σαν κάρτες... για κάποιον που δεν επιθυμεί να ξοδέψει πολλά. Είναι και απολύτως φορητά, για χρήση με laptop οπουδήποτε. 4) Δεν αναφέρω καν λύσεις σαν το Axe-Fx γιατί ξεφεύγει σε κόστος αλλά ένα οργανωμένο στούντιο δε νομίζω να ζητήσει τίποτε άλλο αν αποκτήσει ένα τέτοιο. Software: 1) Τα γνωστά μας Guitar Rig και Amplitube με νέες ισχυρότερες εκδόσεις. 2) Το Revalver της Peavey. 3) Το GTR της Waves. 4) To Studio Devil Pro, και πολλά άλλα. Για τα παραπάνω θα χρειαστεί ένα καλό DI box, κυκλοφορούν πολλά και οικονομικά. Να σημειώσω ότι κυκλοφορούν πλέον εκατοντάδες freeware ΙR (Impulse Responses, δηλαδή πλήρεις εξομοιώσεις καμπινών, χώρων και μικροφώνων), τα οποία μπορούν να συνεργαστούν είτε με outboard είτε με software λύσεις. Host VST για τα IR κυκλοφορούν επίσης πολλά freeware.

Να είσαι σίγουρος ότι ΔΕΝ έχει "εκατοντάδες στο ιντερνετ" σαν τον Verheyen. ;) Ένα μεγάλο ποσοστό από το 90% που χρησιμοποιεί non-floating ρύθμιση έχεις σκεφτεί ότι μπορεί να ΜΗΝ ξέρει πως να το κάνει?

Τα αποτελέσματα στον Windsor Studio θα αλλάξουν με άλλες λάμπες. Επίσης, αν τον χρησιμοποιεί σαν external preamp μπορεί να κάνει εναλλαγές ανάμεσα στον προενισχυτή του GSP ή του Peavey, ανάλογα με τις ανάγκες. Εγώ τα καλύτερα αποτελέσματα τα είδα με το Power Engine, χρησιμοποιώ και καμπίνες και τα πάντα, αλλά το Tech21 δίνει μια πιο "κιθαριστική" αίσθηση στον ήχο. Φαντάζομαι ότι το απόλυτο (για χρήση καμπινών στο gsp πάντα) θα είναι κάτι σαν το Atomic FR της Fractal. Το βασικό πρόβλημα, για πρόβες μιλώντας, όταν βγαίνεις από την κονσόλα, είναι να δαμάσεις τα υπερβολικά πρίμα που βγάζουν τα περισσότερα PA. Συνήθως τα κόβω πολύ. Το GSP έχει ένα παραμετρικό EQ που είναι post amp, αλλά δεν είναι εύκολο να το ρυθμίζεις συνέχεια από το μηχάνημα...
