    At the Denver Jazz Film Festival, this was maybe back in 95, they showed a Mingus documentary and his wife sorry, cant remember the name took questions after the film was over, and one question posed to her was regarding the book Beneath the Underdog and how much Charles personality lent towards embellishment of the facts. With a very wry smile, she responded that some of the outlandish tales may have been slightly exaggerated. That, and Im paraphrasing here obviously, the book embodied his personality more as a whole than in the individual details. Really fun book, in any event.
